Indianapolis Colts’ Tight End Andrew Ogletree Arrested on Charges of Domestic Violence
Indianapolis Colts’ tight end, Andrew Ogletree, has been arrested on charges of domestic violence, including “domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury” and “domestic battery committed in the physical presence of a child less than 16.” The incident occurred during a domestic disturbance at a residence, where Ogletree’s young son was also present.
Ogletree was booked into the Hendricks County Jail and has been denied bond. Following an arrest warrant issued on Thursday, he turned himself in to authorities after practice on Friday. The National Football League’s (NFL) Personal Conduct Policy requires immediate reporting of potential violations.
The alleged victim claimed that Ogletree body-slammed her after she broke his phone and attempted to hit him during an argument. The severity of the injuries sustained by the victim is currently unknown. The Colts have released a statement acknowledging the allegations and stated that they are in the process of gathering more information regarding the incident.
It remains unclear what Ogletree’s current status with the team is. There is a possibility that he could be placed on the Commissioner Exempt List, which would prohibit him from practicing and playing in games. However, he would still be paid during the investigations.
If placed on the Commissioner Exempt List, Ogletree’s absence would undoubtedly affect the Colts’ already struggling tight end position. Since being drafted by the Colts in the sixth round last year, Ogletree missed his rookie season due to injury but made his NFL debut this season. He has shown promise, with nine receptions for 147 yards and two touchdowns.
As of now, Ogletree’s agent has declined to comment on the arrest. The Colts organization, the NFL, and fans are eagerly awaiting further developments in this case.
