Title: Hezbollah Leader Warns Lebanon of Israeli Retaliatory Attacks Following Alleged Assassination
In a recent address, Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah delivered a stern warning to Lebanon, cautioning that the country may face Israeli attacks if his group does not respond to the alleged assassination of a senior Hamas official in Beirut. The incident occurred on Tuesday when Deputy Hamas leader Saleh Arouri and three others were killed in an airstrike. While Hezbollah media promptly pointed fingers at Israel, Israeli officials have denied any involvement.
Expressing the need for Hezbollah to respond to this violation, Nasrallah emphasized the potential risk for all of Lebanon if his group were to remain silent. Backed by Iran, Hezbollah has been launching rockets at Israeli military posts along the border since October 8, in support of Hamas. Nasrallah proudly claimed that his fighters have successfully executed 670 military operations, including the destruction of Israeli military vehicles and tanks.
According to Nasrallah’s warning, Israel’s mission to eradicate Hamas in Gaza will eventually lead to an expanded conflict that will not spare Lebanon. The Hezbollah leader apprehensively stated that once Israel is done with its offensive in Gaza, northern Israel would be the first to suffer. Furthermore, he emphasized that in the event of such a scenario, there would be no limits or rules governing Hezbollah’s response.
Nasrallah perceives the end of the Gaza war as an opportunity for Lebanon to regain control over territories currently occupied by Israel, including the Shebaa Farms and the town of Ghajar. While Israeli officials have categorically denied involvement in Arouri’s assassination, they acknowledged the accuracy and precision of the strike, even describing it as a surgical operation targeting the Hamas leadership.
Nasrallah’s recent comments have sparked concerns about a potential escalation and open war. The European Union foreign policy chief has expressed deep apprehension about the current situation, underscoring the need for urgent de-escalation and diplomatic efforts to prevent further bloodshed.
As tensions continue to rise, the international community remains on edge, watching with growing concern as the precarious situation in the Middle East unfolds.
